Douglas R. McGaver

Douglas "Doug" Ralph McGaver, age 80 of Markesan, passed away at home on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Doug was born on September 25, 1945, in Milwaukee, the son of Ralph and Irene (Klein) McGaver. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Germany from 1965 until 1969. On August 8, 1970, Doug was united in marriage to his wife, Marie, and together they raised two daughters. They lived in Milwaukee until 2012, when they moved to their summer home on Green Lake, that they purchased  in June of 1983. Doug enjoyed fishing, tinkering, watching war movies, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

Doug is survived by his wife, Marie McGaver; his daughters and grandchildren, Michele (Michael) Hansen with Riley Wolfe and Millie Hansen, and Kelly (Anthony) Beuth with Ellie Beuth and AJ Beuth; his brother, Allen (JoAnn) McGaver; his niece, Courtney (Zak) Bollinger; great-nephew, Clark Bollinger; and further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and other relatives.

A memorial gathering for Doug will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services in Markesan from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
