Duane "Jim" E. Klatt, age 93, passed away peacefully at his home in the town of Calamus on Thursday, December 14, 2023.

Jim was born on August 25, 1930 to Elmer and Ethel (Schroeder) Klatt. He was married at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Beaver Dam on February 27, 1954 to Mary Wedel. He farmed his entire life and had numerous other side jobs that always involved a steering wheel. He loved stock car racing and playing cards with his family and friends. He enjoyed camping and snowbird trips to Florida. He also liked to have a cold beverage whenever he was dry.

Jim is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Klatt; daughters, Marilyn (Rodney) Werner and Sue (Jeff Walters) Klatt; granddaughters, Jennifer (Rob) Meudt and Erica (Aaron) McAndrews; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Claire, Audrey and Nora Meudt, Leah and Zach McAndrews; brother-in-law, John Wedel; sisters-in-law, Jeanette (Dennis Olson) Wedel and Carol Wedel; and further survived by many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Delores in infancy; brother-in-law, Joseph Wedel; sister-in-law, Rosemary Wedel and other relatives.

A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam and interment will take place at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Beaver Dam.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the homecare nurses from Marshfield Hospital and Epic Solutions who assisted Jim the past few years.
