Edith Ritzema, 90, of Waupun, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at The Christian Home in Waupun.
Edith was born December 30, 1922 in The Netherlands, the daughter of Martinus and Klaaske Hanninga Knot. In 1948 she married Richard Ritzema. After their marriage they moved to Fulton, IL and later moved to Waupun, WI. Edith was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Waupun. She spent most of her time knitting, crocheting, sewing, and raising a family.
Edith is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard, of Waupun; their children, Klaaske “Clara” (Ted) Mensonides of Modesto, CA, Margaret (Bill) Bergen of Waupun, Patricia “Pat” (Mark) Uttech of Watertown, Frederick “Fred” (Vicki) Ritzema of Waupun, Martinus “Marty” (Laura) Ritzema of Modesto, CA, Loretta “Lori” (Jeff) Riel of Waupun, and Richard “Rich” (Debbi) Ritzema of Waupun; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and a sister.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Funeral services for Edith Ritzema will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. Jeff Brower officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun.
