Edward was born on April 2, 1922 in Racine, Wisconsin, the son of Charles and Marie Lentscher. He grew up in Bayview, WI and was a highly decorated Major in the United States Army Air Corps where he met and married Imogene Halbrooks. They were married for 52 years until the time of her death. He was a member of the 155th Night Photo Reconnaissance Squadron, which served in the European Theatre during WWII. Upon completion of schooling he worked as an engineer at A.O. SMITH until retirement. Ed and Jean spent many of their retirement years in Casa Grande, AZ. after raising their 10 children in Greenfield, WI. Ed was a devoted Catholic and his faith was very important to him. He was a loving father and husband and had a deep devotion to the Lord. His love and laughter will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his present wife, Norma (Reidenbach) of Weyauwega, Edward's children; Carol (Gerald) Murack of South Milwaukee, Charles (Lynn) Lentscher of Dallas, TX, Joan Kunicki of Brookfield, Richard of Hartland, Mary (Paul) Shrimplin of Austin, TX, William (Ruth) of Fox Lake, James of Beaver Dam, 25 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, his brother James (Betty) Lentscher of Milwaukee, and numerous relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Imogene, two sons, Gerald and John, and a daughter Judy.

A Funeral Service for Edward will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd, Beaver Dam, with Father Mike Wild officiating. Visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 23 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Annunciation Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Trenton.
