Elaine Daane

Elaine Roberta (Perry) Daane went peacefully to her eternal rest on April 20, 2024 at Waupun Memorial Hospital at the age of 86.

She was born on May 10, 1937 to Bert and Margaret (LaValle) Perry.  Elaine graduated from Rosendale High School in 1955 and married Harvey Daane on August 28, 1957 at the Alto Reformed Church. They celebrated 64 years of marriage prior to Harvey’s passing in 2022.

Elaine overflowed with love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She loved to bake and often had goodies waiting for her family and friends when they visited.  She enjoyed volunteering for the Alto Reformed Church as a member of the Golden Lifers, Funeral Committee, and working at the Alto Fair.  Elaine also enjoyed visiting the casino on occasion and she loved to play cards with her friends, belonging to a card group and later going to the Waupun Senior Center.  Elaine’s sweet and kind nature made her loved by all who knew her.

After retirement, Elaine and Harvey enjoyed traveling both domestically and abroad.  

Elaine is survived by her seven children, Dennis (JoAnn), David (JoAnn), Dale (Kathy), Daryl (Cathie), Daniel (Mavis), Diane (Roger) Raimondi and Dawn (Dale) Domke, grandchildren; Tracy DeBoer, Jennifer Minnig, Brian, Bradley, Monica Sipes, Melissa Smith, Miranda, Amber, Zachery, Corrisa Leigh, Anthony Raimondi, Tyler Domke and Jessica Domke and 14 great-grandchildren.

Elaine was preceded in passing by her husband Harvey, parents, her siblings, Donald, Alan, Marilyn Marx, Gordon, Maureen and James, her in-laws Harry and Mary, brother and sister in-laws, Earl, Harriet Degener and Linda.

Funeral services for Elaine Daane will be held Friday, April 26, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Pastor Kevin Van Wyk officiating. Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Thursday at the funeral home from 5-7:30 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
