Elaine M. Huizenga, age 84 of Waupun, went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 2, 2026.
Elaine was born on January 17, 1942, in Alto, Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry and Bernice (Sanders) Loomans. She attended Waupun Schools. On December 27, 1962, she married Dean Huizenga in Alto. Elaine and Dean lived in Randolph and moved to Waupun in 2017. Elaine helped her husband run his business and served hot lunch at Randolph Christian School for many years. She shared her love for her Lord and Savior by leading Bible study, teaching Sunday school, and teaching catechism classes.
Elaine loved music, and the family would often sing hymns around the piano, a joy she shared until the day she was called home to glory. She was a faithful member of Second Randolph Christian Reformed Church and later became a member of Grace United Reformed Church in Waupun.
Elaine is survived by her children, Brenda and Dan Bergsma, Angela and Norm Buwalda, Jeff and Lynnea Huizenga, and Melissa and Jeff Pausma; 14 grandchildren, Lyndsey Bergsma, Christopher and Christina Bergsma, Deanna and Winner Jacobson, Holly Bergsma, Mitchell and Emma Bergsma, Jacque and Derek Granquist, Laurie and Chris Parmelee, Katie and Jason Grahn, Brittany and Doug Hoekstra, Derek Huizenga, Matthew Huizenga, Clay and Brianna Pausma, Jocelyn and Steven Bergland, and Alex Pausma; 26 great-grandchildren: Josiah, Nathan, Roman, and Samuel Bergsma, Malachi, Araya, Scarlett, Shiloh, and Titus Jacobson, Elaine and Juniper Bergsma, Brayden and Kaleb Parmelee, Levi, Ryan, Clara, and Owen Grahn, Audrey, Dean, Liam, Emersyn, Case, and Bret Hoekstra, Bryn, Adeline, and Samuel Pausma; three sisters, Hildred Loomans, Alice Posthuma, and Sue Davenport; one brother, Dr. Henry (Robin) Loomans; and further survived by other relatives and friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Dean, in 2018; her parents; three sisters, Helena (Barney) Vande Kolk, Pearl (Milton) Vande Zande, and Evelyn (Ken) De Vries; brother-in-law, Cliff Posthuma; and other relatives.
Visitation for Elaine will take place on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Grace United Reformed Church in Waupun from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Freswick officiating. Burial will take place at Randolph Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Christian Homestead and Prairie Ridge for their tender, loving care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Elaine’s name may be directed to Mid-America Reformed Seminary.
