Eldon was born June 27, 1932 to Lyal and Florence (Bauman) Kohn; in the Town of Marquette, Green Lake County. Eldon was baptized and confirmed into the Methodist faith in the Village of Marquette.

Eldon attended school at the Local County School on Cedar Road. Eldon hauled canned milk and worked on farms. After finishing school he hauled livestock including cattle and worked at the local canning factories. In 1956, Eldon purchased a bulk milk truck. On November 24, 1956 he married Mary Stellmacher.

Eldon lived a very active life with his wife, Mary of 65 years. He was a well-known pony puller and took interest in son, David and grandsons, Mike and Billy's love of pulling draft horses. During his pony pulling career, he took 1 st place at the Wisconsin State Fair twice with his beloved ponies, Dick, Doll, Jim, and Daisy. He also won the Waterloo Dairy Cattle Congress and many local pulls. Eldon had the opportunity to watch his son, David, and grandsons, Mike and Billy, pull at the State Fair and take home a win as well. You would find Eldon at many other contests, including the Nationals in Menominee, Wisconsin, and the Super Pull in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

In 1999, Eldon quit dairying, stayed with cash cropping and helped David and grandsons do tractor work in the field until his final days. He and his wife, Mary, spent many winters in Florida enjoying what he loved most: horse pulling, fishing and sunshine. If you didn't see Eldon at a horse or pony pull you would catch him hunting and fishing. Eldon enjoyed many memorable times with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Eldon was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Those Eldon leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Mary of 65 years; his daughter, Susan Giese; son, David (Jodi) Kohn; son, Daniel (Joyce) Kohn; daughter, Sandy (Steve) Nighbor; grandchildren, Sue (Kevin) Beske, Craig Jr (Trina) Giese, Tim (Linda) Giese,  Michelle Giese (Jamie), Mike (Stacy) Kohn, Jennifer (Josh) Walker, William Kohn, Justin (Cassie) Kohn, Danielle (Matt) Nogalski, Josh (Laura) Dugenske, Michaela and Megan Nighbor; great-grandchildren, Seth Beske; Cassie & Sierra Giese, Theo Giese, Jaden, Jaelyn, Jaci and Jordyn Walker, Sidney and Kaci Kohn, and Adilyn Dugenske; along with many other nieces, nephews, sisters- and brothers- in law, cousins, and friends.
