Eleanor DeBoer

Eleanor DeBoer, 96, of Castle Rock, CO, died Thursday, February 15, 2018.

Eleanor was born July 21, 1921 in the town of Alto the daughter of Mathius and Gertrude Brethouwer Rens. Eleanor graduated from high school and on November 19, 1942 she married John DeBoer in Alto. Following their marriage they resided in the Alto and Waupun areas. Eleanor was a member of First Reformed Church in Waupun and a former Sunday School and Bible Class teacher, a member of the Women’s Guild, a former 4-H instructor and a member of Waupun Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Eleanor is survived by a daughter, JoEllen (Tim) Bouwkamp of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Twilah DeBoer

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dayton and Willard Rens; and sisters, Margaret Schierick and Doris Tenpas.




Friends and relatives of Eleanor DeBoer may call on the family on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.



Funeral services for Eleanor DeBoer will be held Monday, February 19, 2018 at 12 noon at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun.



Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery.
