Elizabeth "Betty" E. Zuhlke, age 67, of Randolph, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at her home. Betty was born on July 10, 1942 in Columbus to Arnold and Elsie (nee Feldhusen) Braker. She was baptized in 1943 and confirmed in 1953 at Lost Lake Methodist Church. Betty was a graduate of Randolph High School in 1960 and on September 1, 1962 she was united in marriage to Robert J. Zuhlke by her brother, Rev. Willard "Bud" Braker at the Methodist Church in Randolph. She was confirmed again in 1964 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Beloit. As a couple, they lived in South Beloit, IL where she worked for Freeman Shoes and Pate's Food until 1972 when they moved to the Zuhlke family farm in Randolph. She worked at Monarch Range in Beaver Dam for 10 years and dedicated another 21 years to John Deere in Horicon, in addition to working on the family farm. Betty was currently a member of Friedens Ev. Lutheran Church in Randolph and served on the Ladies Aid committee.
Betty enjoyed her church life and her family. She was a loving mother of 4, grandmother of 7 and a friend to many. She loved to bake, travel, and play cards. Her family was her joy and loved spending time with them.
Betty is survived by her husband; Robert J. Zuhlke of Randolph, her children; Douglas (Georgia) Zuhlke of Oshkosh, Brenda (Mike) Sylla of Independence, Bonnie (Brook) Swenson of Platteville, Cindy (Robert) Stibb of Randolph, grandchildren; Shana (Brian) Kowald, Kyle Stibb, Carmen Sylla, Deacon, Levon, Sashia and Aubrey Swenson, brothers; Arnold, Herbert and John "Jack" Braker and a sister Marjorie Wendt. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Elsie Braker, brothers; Rev. Willard "Bud" Braker, Robert Braker, a sister Mary Adamczak and two brothers in infancy; Earl and Melvin.
Visitation for Betty will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam. There will also be visitation on Monday, December 14, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Friedens Ev. Lutheran Church, 335 Jones Dr. in Randolph. A Funeral Service will take place at the Church on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Walter Goers officiating. Burial will take place at Randolph Cemetery and a luncheon will follow at the Church.
