Erlyne A. Heuer, age 84 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Erlyne was born on July 31, 1927 to Erich and Irma (nee Hoefs) Ganz in Beaver Dam. She grew up on the family farm in Fox Lake and graduated from Fox Lake High School. She was united in marriage to Henry F. Heuer on October 23, 1946 in Fox Lake. Erlyne continued to help Henry run the farm, taking care of the household chores inside and outside. She later worked at Shopko in the ladies department where she retired after 32 years of employment. Working at Shopko gave her great enjoyment, she loved meeting new people and socializing with the customers. Erlyne loved taking trips to the family cottage on Shawno Lake, especially taking out the paddle boat. In her later years at Hillside Manor she enjoyed "Happy Hour", bingo and the polka dances. She was a member of Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Erlyne cherished the time she spent with her family and was very dedicated to Connie and Doug. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Erlyne is survived by her children, Gerald "Jerry" (Susan) Heuer of Fox Lake, Susan Carran of Beaver Dam, Constance Heuer of Juneau; 6 grandchildren, Sarah (Keith) Diels of Beaver Dam, Ryan (Beth Hovland) Heuer of Fall River, Daniel (Gretchen) Carran of Phoenix, Patrick Carran of Onalaska, WI, Jennifer (Tim) Pingel of Wayside, WI and Steven Carran of Falls Church, VA; two step-grandchildren, Erin (Ryan) Mayrand of Wauwautosa and Ryan (JoAnne) Callies of Beaver Dam; 3 great grandchildren, Gillian and Hailey Diels and Kora Pingel; 6 step great-grandchildren, Aidan and Olivia Mayrand and Braxton, Kasyn and Drake Callies and Matthew Hovland; a sister-in-law, Anges (Paul) Meyer of Burnett. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, 2 children; Jeanne Rene and Douglas along with her mother and father-in-law, Frank and Tillie Heuer.
A Funeral Service for Erlyne will take place on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church, 1310 N. Center St. in Beaver Dam with Rev. Kurtis Mau officiating. Visitation will also be held at the Church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Service. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park in Fox Lake and a luncheon will then take place at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam. Memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
