Ernest A. Māhl, age 69 of Markesan, died peacefully at home due to cancer on April 19, 2022.

He was born September 25, 1952 in Columbus, WI, the son of Allen and Veral (Mullikin) Māhl. He enjoyed playing golf with his son, Troy and a friend, Steve Strand. He loved fishing, hunting, and camping, but most of all, being an over the road truck driver with Alsum Transport in Friesland, WI and Smedema Trucking in Randolph, WI. He also enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers, and he never missed a game.

His survivors are his wife, Victoria (Anderson) Māhl of Markesan, WI; his children, in order: Christopher Māhl of Baraboo, WI, Anthony Māhl of Mauston, WI, Tiffany (Brent) Taylor of Gulf Port, MS, Michelle Māhl Morgan of Wyocena, WI, Emily (Matt) Nicoly of Baraboo, WI, Troy Māhl of Berlin, WI, Stephanie Māhl of Fond du Lac, WI, and Renée Māhl of Markesan, WI; several grandchildren; sisters, Arlene (Tex) Heslep of Baraboo, WI; and Jane Vandre (Charles) Biddle of Sebring, FL; and further survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Veral Māhl; daughter, Heather Māhl; brother-in-law, Francis Vandre; nephew, David Heslep; and other relatives.

A private Celebration of Life will be for the family. Ernie will be missed and loved by all.
