Obituary

Ethel L. Wollenburg, age 86 of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2009.

Ethel was born on November 27, 1922 the daughter of Frederick and Ella (nee Gorr) Oestreich in Watertown. On February 22, 1941 Ethel was united in marriage to Hilbert Wollenburg in Beaver Dam. Ethel worked at the shoe factory in Waupun and after a short retirement she returned to work in 1986 at Advance Products in Beaver Dam. After 15 years of dedicated service, she retired in 2001 at the age of 79. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ethel was an avid Packer and Brewer fan and had a special talent of cooking and baking. All those who knew Ethel will always cherish her "gift of gab." She was a member of Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam where she was a member of Ladies Aid and O.W.L.S.

Ethel is survived by her daughter, Lois Braun of West Bend; her son, Roger (Teri) Wollenburg of Beaver Dam; her grandchildren, Dawn (Bill) Tews of Sun Prairie, Dulcey (Gary) Else of Beaver Dam, Dennis Braun of Slinger, Lisa (Jamie) Beimborn of Appleton; step-grandchildren, Tammy (Bruce) Strauss of Lake Mills and David (Sue) Grayson of Ixonia; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is further survived by her siblings, Pearl (Robert) Limberg of Beaver Dam, Milford (Shirley) Oestreich of Campbellsport, WI and Ginny (Gene) Juoni of Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hilbert in May of 1986, her sister's, Pauline & Willette and her brother Fred.

A Funeral Service for Ethel Wollenburg will take place on Wed. October 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Chuch, 1310 N. Center St., Beaver Dam with Rev. Kurtis Mau officiating.
Visitation will be held on Tues. October 20, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam and also on Wed. October 21, 2009 at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service. Interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care shown to our mother and our family during the difficult times.
