Obituary

Eulalio "Lalo" Martinez, age 79 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2010 in Milwaukee at his daughter's house, after an extended illness. Eulalio "Lalo" Martinez was born in Escobedo, Coahuilla, Mexico on February 12, 1930 the son of Gerardo and Maria (Preciado) Martinez. On February 9, 1963, he was united in marriage to Tomasita "Tomie" Ramirez at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Randolph.

Lalo was naturalized a United States citizen in 1978, an accomplishment of which he was very proud. He was an avid hunter and sportsmen. He was instrumental in providing Mexican dances in Dodge County for the Mexican/American community in the 1970's. Lalo loved working in his garage, providing beautiful woodwork pieces for his family, friends, and Unified Catholic Parish Schools in Beaver Dam. His love for all of his children, grandchildren, great-grandson, and extended family was shown in his daily prayers before each meal. He was willing to lend a helping hand to many of his acquaintances, friends, and family in any way possible through his handyman skills. Lalo moved from the Randolph area to the Beaver Dam Community in 1998 and joined at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church with Tomie. He worked for Rockwell Lumber Yard Company, Slinger Farms, and Beaver Dam's own Monarch Range Company.

Lalo will be missed by his wife, Tomie Martinez of Beaver Dam; his children, Elisa (Bill) Budde of Beaver Dam, Angelina (Jeff) Martinez-De Groot of Milwaukee, Ingrid (Jeff) Koch of Beaver Dam; Grandchildren Leo Budde, Jim (Melanie) Budde, Megan Budde, Sasha and Quintina Martinez-De Groot, Ashley Link, McKayla and Dylan Martinez-Koch; Great-Grandson, Santino De Groot. He is further survived by his brothers; Gumecindo Preciado Martinez andJose Preciado Martinez both of Texas,other relatives and friends.

Lalo was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Petronela Preciado Martinez,Rosa Preciado Martinez, Felipe Preciado Martinez, Santos Preciado Martinez, Carmen Preciado Martinez, Juan Preciado Martinez, Alejandra Preciado Martinez.

Visitation for Lalo will be on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 from 4-7 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam. There will also be visitation on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 511 S. Spring St. in Beaver Dam. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Church at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Jose Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Following the Burial, a luncheon will be served in the Parish Hall at 127 W. Maple Ave. in Beaver Dam.
