Evelyn E. Sekel, age 93, formally of Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Clearview Long Term Care & Rehabilitation Center in Juneau.

Evelyn was born on August 2, 1914 in rural Columbus to Rudolph and Wilhelmina (nee Franz) Andler. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery was her passion. Evelyn was also a hairdresser for several years. Her children were her top priority in life, and she enjoyed all of the time that she spent with her family. Evelyn was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.

Evelyn is survived by her four children, Janice Wendling of Beaver Dam, Larry (LouAnn) Sekel of Beaver Dam, Allen Sekel of Columbus, and Gene (Vivian) Sekel of Chicago, IL; three daughter-in-laws, Angie Andler of Beaver Dam, Verna of Beaver Dam, and Karen of Crandon; two brothers, George Andler of Columbus and Robert (Charlene) Andler of Columbus; one sister, Margie Selgie; 15 grandchildren, Blaine Andler, Jeff (Cheryl) Cook, Jim (Amy) Sekel, Rusty (Dena) Sekel, Mike (Vicky) Sekel, Monica Quella, Mark (Kris) Sekel, Monty Sekel, Doug Setzer, Robby Sekel, Dede Sekel, Bradley Sekel, Carolyn Sekel, Chuck (Lori) Sekel, and Perry (Amy) Sekel; three step-grandchildren, Carl (Angie) Wendling, Ronnie (Janet) Wendling, and Judy Brashear; 16 great-grandchildren, Brian Cook, Derick and Travis Quella, Steven, William, Tyler, Andler, Taylor, Alexia, Gavin, Logan, Becca, Cody, Mary Claire, Avery and Danielle Sekel; and one great-great-granddaughter, Tori Cook. She is further survived by several step-great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Rodney Andler, Bill and Donald Sekel; one son-in-law Carl Wendling; two brothers, Otto and Russell Andler; two sisters, Lucille Westphal and Phyllis Allsage; two step-granddaughters Loretta and Carol, and other relatives.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam. Visitation will also be held on Sunday, April 27, 2008 from 12:00 p.m. (NOON) until the time of Service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Bob Castro officiating. A luncheon will follow at the funeral home. Private family burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Columbus.
