Faye E. Schouten

Faye Ellen Schouten, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Faye was born on July 24, 1960, in Waupun, the daughter of Gerald and Annice (Beek) Schouten. Faye was a 1982 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, graduating with a bachelor’s degree. She then began a career in law enforcement, which she stayed in for 33 years. Faye retired as a lieutenant from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Police Department in 2015.

Faye was a past president and permanent board member of the Wisconsin Association of Women Police. She was also a past president and board member of the Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault.

Faye is survived by her sisters, Beverly Yunto, Kathleen (Tim Teachout) Muckerheide, and Debra (Jerry) Heller; brothers, Dale (Chris) Schouten and Ronald Schouten; her committed partner, Randy Simon; and further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Faye was preceded in death by her father, Gerald, in 1973; her mother, Annice, in 2026; two brothers-in-law, Jerold Yunto and David Muckerheide; sister-in-law, LaLonnie Schouten; great-nephew, Alric; and other relatives.

A memorial gathering for Faye will be held at Alto Reformed Church on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 11 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Randy McDaniel officiating.

If desired, memorials may be made in Faye’s name to Special Olympics Wisconsin.
