Franklin Gordon Kratz, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at ThedaCare Medical Center in Berlin.

Franklin was born on April 9, 1940 in Montello, the son of Charles Franklin and Aileen (Ashley) Kratz Sr. He was united in marriage to Frances Elaine Cross on June 27, 1959 in Portage. He worked at AMPI in Portage as a forklift operator for many years. Franklin will be remembered as a quiet, gentle soul who enjoyed hunting in his younger years, bowling with family and friends, playing bingo and watching Western movies.

Franklin is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Raymond) Moreland of Dalton; son, Randy Kratz of Wisconsin Dells; daughters-in-law, Donna Hare of Markesan and Pamela Kratz of Kingston; brothers, Jerry and Willis (Karen); sisters-in-law, Virginia, Barb and Lucia; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frances; son, Gary; in-laws, Nickolas and Evelyn (Bartles) Schumann; brothers, Frederick (Pat), Harry (Lennice), Charles Jr. and Dale; sisters, Charlotte (Bud) and Lois (Merle); brother-in-law, George Cross and other relatives.

Honoring the family's wishes, private family services will take place.
