Gary L. Cahoon, age 63 of Marquette, was called home to his Savior on August 17, 2018 with his family by his side. Gary passed away peacefully after a months-long battle with cancer.

Visitation for Gary will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Marquette, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. with Revs. Frank Rose and Michael Plagenz officiating. Burial will take place at Grandview Cemetery, Marquette.

Gary was born on October 26, 1954 in Waupun, the son of Clarence and Eunice (Cluppert) Cahoon. He graduated from Markesan High School in 1972 and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He expanded and managed the family's business, Cahoon's Resort, cultivated his garden, sold hunting and fishing licenses and bait, and assisted many families with their lawn care. Gary was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Marquette. He remained an active member of his church community and was a current member at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Kingston.

Gary is survived by his mother, Eunice of Marquette; aunts and uncle, Laurene Henning of Ripon and Kenneth (Norma) Cluppert of Albert Lea, MN; special friend, Trisha Neujhar, Rockford, IL; many cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence; maternal grandparents, Vernon and Laura Cluppert; paternal grandparents, Herbert and Gusta Cahoon; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
