Obituary

Gary T. Ballweg, 52 of Fox Lake, proprietor of 'The Wharf', was tragically taken from us in an automobile accident on Monday, March 19, 2018.

Visitation for Gary will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Fox Lake Community Center, 248 E. State Street, Fox Lake, WI. Private family burial will take place at St. Jerome's Cemetery in Columbus.

Gary was born on February 8, 1966 in Madison, the son of Henry A. and Cecilia K. (Bausch) Ballweg. He owned and operated The Wharf in Fox Lake for over 30 years. He was very kind-hearted and willing to help out anyone. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football, baseball, basketball and racing. He loved his family dearly, including his "pseudo-son" and faithful furry companion, Willy.

Gary is survived by his siblings, Donald Ballweg of Madison, Karen Ballweg-Larsen of Fox Lake, Margaret Peterson of Oregon and Robert (Margie Reible) Ballweg of Beaver Dam; nieces and nephews, Matthew Ballweg, Christopher Ballweg, Erica Ballweg-Larsen, Christina Shaughnessy, Marlena Koenig, Drew Peterson, Alexandra Peterson, Ariana Peterson and Jacob Ballweg; special friend, Shera Barton of Randolph; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, many friends and numerous valued customers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, niece, Laura Peterson and other relatives.
