Cambria:
It is with the deepest regret that we must announce the passing of our beloved friend, partner, coworker, and confidant George P. Hackett. After a short, aggressive battle with cancer, he departed this world on Saturday the 3rd of December at 57 years of age; fighting every step of the way. To say he will be missed is an understatement. George was born on April 6, 1965 in Green Bay, WI. He attended New London High School and then entered into the workforce doing maintenance. In search of a new career path, George got his feet wet in the tower industry working for a company out of Deerfield, WI, as a cell tower maintenance technician for a few years. In 2004, George, along with a couple of other co-workers who had the same idea, decided to start their own cell tower business. Together, they built Tower Technologies Group, LLC, from the ground up and became known and respected in the industry as TTG, of Edgerton, WI. George lived his life, filling it with adventure and an undying need for speed. Whether it was riding his snowmobiles, motorcycles or even skydiving, he would have tried anything that brought thrill and excitement, as that is the kind of guy he was. This fearless man was never afraid of heights and enjoyed his job of climbing communications structures, it became his passion. George took great pride in being a gun range safety officer. He was also an avid hunter, but yet he loved wildlife. It was well known that he had a soft spot for animals, especially the road side rescues that were brought home to be rehabilitated.
George will be sadly missed and mourned by his best friend, Jennifer Garde of Friesland and her son Murphy Newbrough-Garde; his brother, John L. (Robyn) Hackett of Arena, WI; his sister, Kim L. Hackett of Columbus; his nephews, Evan J. and Alec J. Hackett; one niece, Sydney Hackett; his business partners, Andy Smrekar and Curtis Randecker, his entire TTG family; other relatives and many friends. George was preceded in death by his mother Jacqueline Kay (Schaaf) Hackett. His impact was felt as he played a "larger than life" role, both on the tower site and off.
