Georgine “Pat” Wheeler, 84, of Waupun, died Friday evening, June 29, 2012.
Pat was born September 4, 1927 in Two Harbors, MN the daughter of William and Nora Johnson Sullivan. Pat attended schools in Chippewa Falls, WI, graduating from Chippewa High School. On August 3, 1946 she married Paul Wheeler in Chippewa Falls. Following their marriage they resided in Forest Grove, OR and then moved to Waupun in 1951. Following her years of being a “stay at home” mom, Pat went on to college, receiving her bachelor’s degree at Marian College in Fond du Lac. She taught in elementary schools in Beaver Dam for 36 years. Pat was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun, Daughters of Isabella, Waupun Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and by proclamation, “the mayor of Bronson Street.” Over the years, Pat was an avid fisherman, enjoyed cooking, a die-hard Packers fan, and loved her children and grandchildren.
Pat is survived by two sons, Bill (Debbie) Wheeler of Waupun, and Dick (Paula) Wheeler of Crystal River, FL; five grandchildren, Katy (Dan) Bartow, Gina, Paul, Jessie, and Steffie Wheeler; four sisters, Melva Peterson of Rochester, MN, Ethel Wahl of Omaha, NB, Noreen (Bill) Lange of Orlando, FL, and Jackie (Terry) Strawhecker of Green Valley, AZ; three brothers, Tom (Marilyn) Sullivan of West Bend, Mike (Carol) Sullivan of Forest Lake, IL, and Jerry (Gail) Sullivan of Omaha, NB; and several nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Paul Wheeler in 1982; two sisters, Betty Coble and Katherine Rushmann; three brothers, Norman, Jimmy, and Billy Sullivan.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives of Pat Wheeler may call on the family on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial for Pat Wheeler will be held Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun with Rev. Michael Wild officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waupun.
Memorial Contributions:
The family requests memorials be directed to Agnesian Hospice.
