Junior Gutmann

Gerald J. Gutmann Jr., age 60, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025.

Junior was born June 25, 1964 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Gerald and Jean Giese Gutmann Sr. Junior's early life was shaped by his education in the Milwaukee school system, where he laid the foundation for a successful career in the trades. He further honed his skills at the Madison Area Technical College (MATC), which paved the way for his employment at various respected companies, including Auto Tran Specialist in Waupun, Caravan Trailers in Fox Lake, and Diamond Auto Parts in Fond du Lac. On April 30, 2010 he married Sandy Vanburen. The couple resided in Waupun all their married lives. Junior was a man of many interests, delighting in the simple pleasures of life. He found joy in spending time with his friends and family, particularly his beloved granddaughter. His leisure time was often spent riding his motorcycle, tinkering in the garage, and skillfully repairing lawn mowers. These activities not only brought him happiness but also allowed him to connect with those around him. He loved to help people out whenever they needed it.

Junior is survived by his wife, Sandy Gutmann of 15 years; a step-son, Mike (Autumn) Jaremba; a step-granddaughter, Monica Shay Jaremba; siblings: David (Denise) Malmquist, Jeanna Powell, Thomas Malmquist and Robert Gutmann step-father, “Big Daddy Butch” Webler; the In-laws: Shirley Otto, Ralph Jaremba, Allen (Tracy) Jaremba, Jeanette (Mitch) Rohr, Jackie Seipp, Laurie (David) Cluppert; and many nieces and nephews.

Junior was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Giese Gutmann; a nephew, Chris Surdyk; and sister-in-law Linda (Larry) Hamilton.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun at 6 p.m. with Gwen Loomans officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 3-6 p.m.
