Gertrude Anna Krenz, age 98 of Dalton, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Markesan Resident Home.

Visitation for Gertrude will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Parish, 177 W. Pearl St., Kingston from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Father Paul Eruva serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Kingston.

Gertrude was born on February 1, 1919 in the Town of Manchester, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Lucek) Machkovich.  She was united in marriage to Carl Krenz on March 26, 1939 in Kingston.  Throughout her years, she enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, reading, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, helping on the farm and spending time outdoors.  She was also a member of Holy Family Catholic Parish in Kingston.

Gertrude is survived by her son, Richard of Dalton; three daughters, Phyllis (James) Brozek of Fall River, Betty (Robert) Walikainen of South Dakota, Diane (Mitch) Lemiesz of Markesan; daughter-in-law, Jernette Krenz of Manchester; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Charles (Eleanor) Machkovich of Ripon along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 1 sister; 5 brothers; a son Lloyd and a son-in-law Rick.
