Gilbert Schwechel, age 68 of Marquette, passed away at Ripon Medical Center on Friday, September 18, 2020.

Visitation for Gilbert will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.

Gilbert was born on December 2, 1951 in Cudahy, WI, the son of Gilbert A. and Betty Jane (Bortel) Schwechel. He worked as a truck driver for ABN Plainfield Trucking. Gilbert enjoyed bowling in his earlier years, watching wrestling and doing cross stitch on his computer.

Gilbert is survived by his loving companion, Terri Biljan of Marquette; children, Christine Schwechel of Marquette and Steven Schwechel of Horicon; Terri's children, Aaron Raczynski of Cedarburg and Amber Biljan of Marquette; grandchildren, Travis, Tayler, Tieley, Joey, Zachary, Brendon, Jonathan and Tabatha; great-granddaughter, Arezmae; brother, James (Debbie) Schwechel of West Bend; sister, Marilyn Griffin of Milwaukee; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Diane Fischer and other relatives.
