Gladys Kluckman, 98, of Markesan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the Barrett House in Markesan.




Gladys was born November 15, 1916 to Herman and Augusta Schultz Lenz. Gladys was the youngest of 11 children. She spent her early years on a farm in the German Settlement area. She married Dick Ira Kluckman on her birthday in 1941. She was a member of Markesan United Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. She was a secretary at Markesan Telephone Company and a secretary/bookkeeper for the Markesan Medical Center for many years. Gladys and Dick did a lot of traveling. They owned and enjoyed a cottage on the south shore of Big Green Lake where the family would gather to share a good time and a meal. All the nieces and nephews were treated to boat rides when they visited.

Gladys is survived by a niece, Donna (A.J.) Kahl and their family: Michael Kahl, Amy (Will) Manier and their children: Adrienne (Peter) Kangas, Celeste (John) Deno, and Greg (Dawn) Manier and Kathleen (Howie) Gloff; nieces and nephews: Lois Happersett, Tom Happersett, Roslie Davis, Russell (Caroline) Schwock, Muriel Malmberg, Virgil (Nancy) Schwandt, Diann Mickelson, Lowell (Jean) Lenz, David (Betty) Fox, Rev. Sharon Johnson, Verlys Marquardt, Jon (Ann) Marquardt, and Larry (Yvonne) Wendlandt.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, in August 2005; her parents; two brothers: Marvin as a youth, and Arthur; eight sisters: Ella in infancy, Anna Koechel, Dora Schwandt, Marie Schwock, Irma Fox, Esther Welk Schulz, Edith Marquardt, and Margaret Wendlandt; brother-in-law and his wife, Gale and Leona Kluckman; nephews; and a niece.

All who believe in God’s mercy and grace

Visitation:


Friends and relatives may call on the family on Saturday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.



Services:


A memorial service for Gladys Kluckman will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Pastor Kathleen Gloff officiating.



Burial:


Burial will take place at Salemville Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church in Markesan or the charity of your choice.
