Obituary

Glen B. Knaup, age 92 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Glen was born on May 1, 1920 in Reeseville to Clarence and Ella (nee Brose) Knaup. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1937 and later served his country in the United States Army Air Corp. He was first married to Olivia Harvey in St. Joseph, Missouri and she preceded him in death in 1975. Glen later married Dorothy Kamm in Baton Rouge, LA in 1976. Glen loved to fly airplanes, often to many of the fly in breakfasts around the state, and at one time, he owned over 100 airplanes. He and his father, Clarence Knaup built an airport on the land now used as the Dodge County Fairgrounds. Glen was a builder and developer in Beaver Dam and surrounding communities. He loved boating and living on the water. Glen and Dorothy loved traveling and took many trips to destinations around the world. Glen was a member of Trinity Church United Methodist in Beaver Dam, John E. Miller American Legion Post #146 in Beaver Dam for over 65 years and Hump Pilots Association for many years

Glen is survived by wife of 36 years, Dorothy of Beaver Dam; his son, Col. Peter (Christine) Knaup of Beaver Dam; son-in-law, Robert Kolitz of Beaver Dam; step children, Greg Nehls of Beaver Dam, Lynann Nehls of Charlotte, NC, Royce (Diane Goodrich) Nehls of Beaver Dam; step-daughter-in-law, Robin Nehls of Iron Ridge; grandchildren, Clancy (Lindsay) Knaup, Jennifer (Jason Martin) Knaup, Jeffrey Kolitz, Rochelle Kolitz, Scott Kolitz; step-grandchildren, Shana, Ryan, Krista, David, Nicole; great-grandchildren, Stella, Hunter and Parker. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Glen is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Olivia, a daughter, Jackie Kolitz, a step-son, Robert Nehls, a brother, Norm (Doris) Knaup and a sister in infancy.

A Memorial Service for Glen will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam with Rev. Sonja Parr officiating. Visitation will also take place on Monday at Cornerstone from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Service. John E. Miller American Legion Post # 146 is invited for a walk through at 4:00 p.m. at Cornerstone. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hillside Manor and Hillside Hospice for their care of Glen during his stay. A special thank you to Rev. Jeffrey Nicholas and Rev. Sonja Parr for their visits and prayers.
