F. Gordon Burton, age 99 of Beaver Dam, WI passed onto eternal life on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

A memorial gathering for Gordon will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, next to his wife, in Beaver Dam.

Gordon was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan on October 12, 1925, the son of Emory and Clara (Perino) Burton. He graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac in 1943.  He attended the University of Wisconsin's engineering program until joining the US Navy.  Gordon served in the US Navy on the USS Pollux during WWII in the South Pacific. Upon coming home, he attended Fond du Lac Technical College and got a degree in business administration. Gordon married Audrey (Beyer) on June 28, 1947 and together they had 5 children.  James, Cathy, Robert, David and a son, Richard who passed away at birth.  They were married for over 70 years and lived in Beaver Dam for most of that time. He was a past member of Beaver Dam Lions, Elks, and Shriners, and a current member of Masonic Lodge #72 for over 65 years.  Gordon was employed by Morton Salt Company for 40 years working as a technical service manager and sale representative covering 14 states.  He and his wife spent many years after retirement splitting their time between their Beaver Dam home and a home in Avon Park Florida which they thoroughly enjoyed. Gordon was also an avid golfer and loved that he could golf year 'round.

He is survived by his children James (Linda) Burton of the Netherlands, Cathy Burton Kirby of McFarland, WI, Robert (Tracey) Burton of Beaver Dam and David Burton of Montello, WI; as well as grandchildren, Dustin Burton, Stacia (Chet) Burton Rogers, Stephanie Kirby, Peter (Amy) Kirby, Jenny (Chad) Burton Schirner, Katie Burton and James (Lori) Burton; four great grandchildren, Sean and Beau Schirner, Layla Rogers, and Jack Kirby; and further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; infant son; parents; in-laws Dewey and Myrtle Beyer; and other relatives.
