Obituary

Helen A. Jensen, age 87 of Kingston, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Markesan Resident Home.

Helen was born on July 26, 1930 and raised in Whitefish Bay, WI, the daughter of Ernest A. and Elsa (Knop) Jensen. Throughout Helen's life, she was very influenced by art and music. While living in Europe, she was very inspired and spiritually uplifted as she spent time in Florence, Venice, Rome and at the Vatican. As an artist, she also supported herself as a freelance writer. Her paintings have been acquired in New Mexico, Florida, New York City and Wisconsin.

A charter member since inception, one of Helen's original writing pieces, along with her typewriter, are on display at the Kingston Historical Society. Helen was also a member of the Rural Rembrandt Art Club, Oshkosh Fine Arts Association and Wisconsin Regional Artists Association. When diagnosed with breast cancer, she was determined to move beyond it with the healing power of creativity. Living life to the fullest, Helen will always be remembered as one who didn't miss out on much in life.

Helen is survived by her cousins, Marcia Bowman and Carl Knop and friend, Nancy Wallman. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Estel; and brother, Dr. Eric R. Jensen.

A graveside service for Helen will be held at Kingston Cemetery on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
