Helen Hartgerink, 95, of Waupun, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024 at the Christian Home in Waupun.
Helen was born December 3, 1928 in the town of Metomen in Fond du Lac County, the daughter of Aldert and Cynthia VandenBerg Rens. On December 3, 1947 she married Lloyd Hartgerink in Brandon. The couple resided in the Brandon area most of their lives until moving to Waupun. Helen was an active member of Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon.
Helen is survived by three daughters: Judith (Gary) Henker of Brandon, Donna (Dennis) Vanderbush of Waupun, and Sue (Phillip) VandeKolk of Brandon; 8 grandchildren: Jeff (Melissa) Henker, Todd (Jennifer) Henker, Kim (Jeffery) Miller, Mike (Stefanie) Vanderbush, Julie Vanderbush, Melanie (Sherwyn) Lamer, Matt (Jodi) Vandekolk, and Ann (Craig) Marchant; 19 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ardis Redeker; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Lloyd Hartgerink; her parents; three sisters: Angeline Tavs, Esther Kamphuis, and Audrey TerBeest; and three brothers: James “Harold” Rens, Gordon “Bob” Rens, and George Rens.
Funeral services for Helen Hartgerink will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon with Pastor John Tilstra officiating. Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
