Helene Jensen, age 87 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Eagles Wings in Beaver Dam.

Helene was born September 3, 1926 in Kingston, Wisconsin to Lenora and Alvin Lueptow. She grew up on a farm near Kingston, and graduated from Markesan High School. She eventually moved to Milwaukee and worked for many years as a hostess in the Pfister Hotel restaurants. Helene especially enjoyed working at Watt's Tea shop where she got to meet many of the Milwaukee Braves and Green Bay Packers.

On November 10th 1961, Helene married Erling Jensen. They started a family and eventually moved to Hudson, Wisconsin to retire. Helene worked as a part time cook at Hudson High School for many years. She taught Sunday School and was otherwise involved in the First Presbyterian Church in Hudson.

After her husband passed away, Helene moved to Beaver Dam to be closer to family. She became an active and popular volunteer at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital for over 20 years.

Helene is survived by her son Peter (Suzanne) Jensen; granddaughter Savanna Jensen; sister Maxine Johnson of Minneapolis, MN; and many wonderful nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, and sister Lois Linger.

Following Helene's wishes, cremation has taken place. A small family memorial service will occur, and the ashes will be interned next to her husband in Hudson, WI.

Helene greatly appreciated the many friends and relatives who were part of her life and visited her.
