Henry J. Evans, age 90 of Juneau, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at home.
Henry was born on March 29, 1922 in Waukesha, WI to Edward and Margaret (nee Roberts) Evans. He was a graduate of Waukesha High School and served in the US Coast Guard during World War II. He was united in marriage to Alice Wiersma on April 10, 1943. He was a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ in Juneau, Juneau American Legion Post 15, and Dodge County Masonic Lodge 72. He lived in Juneau since 1950, and worked for Dodge County Road Department, Juneau Transit driving truck throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest, and for the Beaver Dam Mall and JC Penney Co. before retirement.
Henry is survived by sons Milo (Dianna) of St Louis, MO, and Richard (Patti) of Juneau; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; son, Steven, brothers, Roland, Donald, Newton, Edward, and Milo.
A Funeral Service for Henry will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam with Rev. Dr. Carol Lange officiating. Visitation will take place on Monday prior to the service at the funeral home, beginning at 10:00 a.m. A Masonic Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. and a luncheon will be served immediately following the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Friesland Cemetery in Friesland.
