Hilbert "Hibby" L. Gentz, age 61 of Burnett, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 11, 2011 due to heart failure.

Hibby was born on July 17, 1950 to Hilbert and Sadie (nee Callies) Gentz. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was united in marriage to Patricia Dudzinske on May 15, 1982 in Beaver Dam. After working at John Deere in Horicon for 30 years, Hibby retired in 2008. One of Hibby's greatest enjoyments in life was riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and taking care of the yardwork.

Hibby is survived by his wife, Patricia Gentz of Burnett; his children, Jeremy Gentz of Beaver Dam, Christopher (Fiona) Elvers of Hartford and Jason (Carrie) Elvers of Horicon; two granddaughters; three grandsons; his siblings, Priscilla (Albert) Sturm of California, Bernie (Kathy) Gentz of Arkdale, WI, Beverly (Mike) Connaughty of Beaver Dam, Sandi Gentz of Beaver Dam, Shirley Gentz of Beaver Dam, Bill Gentz of Fox Lake and John (Sharon) Gentz of Campbellsport. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Allen and Raymond Gentz and a nephew Dean.

A Memorial Service for Hibby will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Serivces, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam. A Memorial Gathering will take place prior to the service at the funeral home, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, Town of Trenton, with graveside military honors provided by John E. Miller American Legion Post 146. A luncheon to follow back at the funeral home.
