Hilda H. Poetter, age 85 of Beaver Dam and formerly of the Town of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Hilda was born on September 5, 1925 in the Town of Lowell to Candidus and Frieda (nee Ganz) Meier. On August 27, 1946 she was united in marriage to Roland E. Poetter at Trinity Lutheran Church in Reeseville. Hilda and her husband Roland owned and operated a family dairy farm in the Town of Lowell. She was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.

Hilda is survived by her daughters, Lois Masche of Beaver Dam, Patricia (Douglas) Lauersdorf of Burnett; her siblings, Elizabeth Schultz of Beaver Dam, Marian Birkholz of Waupun, Erwin Meier of Columbus; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson; sister-in-laws, Charlotte Meier of Florida, Mary Meier of Beaver Dam and Patricia Meier of Florida . She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Hilda is preceded in death by her parents, husband Roland on April 17, 2010, son-in-law, Eddie Masche, grandson Matthew Masche, 5 brothers, Carl, Harold, Gerhard, her twin brother Harry and Joseph Meier, 3 brother-in-laws, 1 sister-in-law and other relatives.

A Funeral Service for Hilda will take place on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, 300 West St. in Beaver Dam with Rev. Philip Heyer officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the Service at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Lowell Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
