Ingrid Longrie-Grede, age 75 of Watertown, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday, October 7 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

She was born Ingrid Elstner in Warnsdorf County, Czech Republic on March 22, 1943. Her childhood years were spent growing up in Hessisch Lichtenau, Germany. Ingrid always loved people and had a strong desire to care for others. She studied nursing and worked caring for and serving others throughout her life. In 1962 she met Bart Longrie, her future husband. Shortly thereafter, Ingrid's life was filled with travel as she moved with her family to different places in the US, Germany and England. Wherever she lived, she was quick to make new friends and prided herself on her friendships. Ingrid had a love of animals, music, art, learning and trying new things and above all a strong love of family. She will be missed especially by those whose lives she touched.

Ingrid is survived by her two children, Sylvia Bergelin and her husband Mike of Watertown, WI and Michael Longrie and his wife, Ann of Raleigh, NC. She is further survived by her five grandchildren, whom she loved dearly; Zachary, Zander, Jeremiah, Allyse and Daniel.

Ingrid was preceded in death by her husband, Heinrich Grede of Kassel, Germany.

A private service will be held.

Memorials in Ingrid's name may be made to any Alzheimer's research charity.
