After 99 years of a beautiful life well lived, Ioma Adams, surrounded by family, left this world and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus.
Ioma was born on April 7, 1918 in Sibley, IL, the daughter of Will Carl and Emma (Franks) Winter. She proudly graduated with a Nursing Degree from Mennonite School of Nursing in Bloomington, IL in 1940. Ioma worked as a surgical nurse in her early years and later worked in a nursing home facility for 28 years. She was pleased to have her daughter and granddaughter follow in the nursing profession. Ioma resided in Tomahawk and Markesan for most of her life before moving into Barrett House, Markesan.
Ioma took great joy in spending time with her family and helping them in any way she could. She was proud of all her grandchildren's accomplishments. Snuggling with the little ones and watching them play, brought many a smile to her face. Throughout her life, her close friends also played an important role. Ioma loved the beauty of nature, especially flowers, hummingbirds and cardinals. She enjoyed her many trips to visit relatives in Michigan, eating sweets, going for rides, a morning cup of coffee and watching Jeopardy and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Ioma is survived by her children, Charles "Sam" (Barb) Adams of Charleston, SC, Kristine Waddell of Decatur, IL, Jim Adams of Oak Creek, WI and Nancy (Steve) Stellmacher of Markesan, WI; grandchildren, Sam (Heidi) Adams, Seth (Addie) Adams, Teresa "TJ" Ruenger, Stephanie (Eric) McDonald, Emily Waddell, Matthew Waddell, Daniel Adams, Lauren Adams, Lucas (Gina) Stellmacher, Jenna (Collin) Taylor, Sarah (Lyal) Borgen; great-grandchildren, Logan, Miles, Abby, Wyatt, Madelyn, Thomas, Noah, Draven, Benjamin, Emma, Nolan, Eli and Wyatt; special friends, Jane and Lynn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, two brothers Dale (Edith) Winter and Dean (Margaret) Winter, and other relatives.
