Jack Griffeth Helsdon, 93 was born December 9, 1930 in Elgin Illinois to Gilbert Clyde and Audrey Love Helsdon. Heaven gained an incredibly beautiful and loving soul on February 14, 2024.

A memorial service with military honors will be Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with family greeting friends and loved ones at 10:30 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 311 W. Mackie St., Beaver Dam, (www.firstlutheranchurch.org) with Rev. Jim Wendt officiating. The service will be broadcast on Face Book Live ( www.facebook.com/firstluthbd ) and YouTube Streams ( https://www.youtube.com/@FirstLuthBD/streams) . Inurnment will be private.

Jack worked for the National Park Service at Glacier National Park in 1950 and proudly served in the US Navy Air Corp. From 1951 – 1955. During that time Jack was introduced to Beverly via mutual friends and they corresponded with each other "long distance" Upon his discharge their love blossomed and they married in 1955 and raised two children in Elgin, IL. After retiring from Illinois Bell Telephone after 35 years of dedicated service, they moved to Fox Lake, WI which became a beautiful 2nd chapter of their lives and the place he taught all his grandchildren to fish. Jack was very active in their church serving on committees and volunteering in the community.

Jack and Bev enjoyed traveling the world together making friends wherever they went. He especially enjoyed their treasured "club" friends that gathered once a month for over 50 years.

Jack is survived by his loving wife Beverly, father to Dan (Korrin) Helsdon of Gilberts, IL and Vicki (Gene) Miller of Leaf River, IL. Proud Grandfather to Matthew (Erica) Miller, Bryan (Katie) Miller, Amy (John) Kirchner, Lindsey (Brian) Farrell, Joseph (Riley Andrews) Kotz and loved by 13 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by his sister, Linda (Carl) Mitchell, brother-in -law Jerry (Linda) Christopherson, sister-in-law Barb (the late Roger) Christopherson and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to acknowledge the outstanding care and love provided by the staff at Hillside Manor. Jack was a kind and gentle man who always had a warm smile, a firm hand shake or a loving hug to all he met.
