Jack R. Twet

Aug 7, 1934 — Aug 5, 2026

Jack Robert Twet, 91, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026. Born on August 7, 1934, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jack spent his childhood and formative years in the city, graduating from Wauwatosa East High School. He spent many summers at Pewaukee Lake with his friends and family.

He went on to attend Milton College, where he played football and developed the discipline and team spirit that would shape the rest of his life. Following college, Jack proudly served his country in the post Korea Era in the United States Army. After his service, he began his career as a teacher and coach. He furthered his education at Northern Michigan and UW-Superior, going on to serve as a principal and school administrator in a number of school districts throughout Wisconsin. His career began at Waupun High School, followed by Wrighstown, Loyal High School, Premontre High school, Freedom High School, Wausaukee High School, Stratford High School, Stanley-Boyd High School, Bayport High School, Seneca High School, and United Catholic Parish Schools in Beaver Dam.

Outside of his professional life, Jack was a man of many passions. He found joy and quiet satisfaction in woodworking, crafting pieces with patience and care. He loved the outdoors, spending time fishing, hunting, and camping. He kept himself strong through weightlifting, notably still holding the world record in powerlifting for Masters 275 pound, over 60 years weight class. “Oofda!!”

Jack was often found supporting his children and grandchildren at their various sporting events. He had a deep love of history, and above all, Jack was known for his gift as a storyteller — always ready with a tale that would bring laughter, wisdom, or a lesson learned, and was very happy to share it with anyone willing to listen. “You Betcha!”

On June 8, 1963, Jack married the love of his life, Lynn (Brunette), beginning a marriage that lasted for over 63 years.

Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife, Lynn of Beaver Dam, WI, his children, Kari (Tom Opelt) Thorpe of Neillsville, WI, Steve (Rita) Twet, of Clovis, CA, Denise (Wade) Hoffstatter of Stanley, WI, Terri (Edward) Hernandez of Wild Rose, WI, Mary (Chad) Voigt of Iron Ridge, WI, and Christina (Christopher) Fugman of Milwaukee, WI.
