James Eldon Boelter, age 62 of Markesan, passed away surrounded by friends and family on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at SSM Hospital - Ripon.
Visitation for James will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services in Markesan from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Markesan Memorial Cemetery.
Jim was born April 2, 1963, in Waupun, Wisconsin, the son of Eldon and Vila (Lohry) Boelter. Growing up, Jim looked forward to Christmas every year, and that passion carried on throughout his adult years as well. He took charge yearly of putting up the tree and loved decorating. On August 10, 2002, he was united in marriage to his wife, Carolyn Jahnke at St. John's Lutheran Church in Markesan. Jim worked at Sigma as a metal grinder for nearly 38 years. He also served with Green Lake County Volunteer Emergency Services for over 40 years. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, riding ATV, and playing video games.
James is survived by his wife, Carrie Boelter; his mother, Vila (Paul) Dolata; his uncles, Jerry Boelter, Merle Lohry, and Lyle (Judie) Lohry; his aunt, Ardell (Bill) Warren; nieces and nephews, Jessica (Cory Pralle) Boelter, Rob (Sheri) Warren, Lynette (RJ) Montes, Kevin (Alyse) Lohry, Jason (Kristin) Lohry and Teresa (Ryan) Manske; his beloved pets, Charlotte, Zoey, and Momma Kitty; and further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eldon Boelter; his uncle, Arden "Boots" Boelter; his aunts, Annie Boelter and Evie Lohry; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and other relatives.
