Heinbuch

James Henry Heinbuch passed away on January 23, 2025, surrounded by his family at Waupun Memorial Hospital after a battle with serious health conditions. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
A memorial gathering for James will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 215 Gould St., from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Chris Davis officiating. Inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam, at a later date.
Jim was born to Rev. John and Gertrude (Vriesen) Heinbuch on May 29, 1943, in Reeseville, WI. He attended high school in Ackley, Iowa, and went on to graduate from Lakeland College in Sheboygan, WI. He dedicated 39 years of his professional life as a social worker at Dodge County Human Services.
On August 7, 1966, Jim married JoAnn Lutze in Newton, WI. Together, they raised a loving family and created many wonderful memories. Jim's greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. Whether it was Sunday dinners, time at the cottage, or the annual Spring Break family trip to Florida, he treasured the time when his family was together. You could always find Jim in the audience or on the sidelines, cheering on his grandchildren. Grandpa was their biggest fan, yet, he always enjoyed a little friendly competition amongst the family, especially when playing Bags and Catan. Jim also enjoyed days bumming around at thrift shops and sales, his annual family fishing trips to Canada, doing puzzles, watching Wisconsin sports, golfing, deer hunting, and savoring G&Ts on warm summer nights.
He was a devoted member of Grace Presbyterian Church for 57 years, where he served as an elder and deacon.
Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, JoAnn, his 3 children and 9 grandchildren: Deb (Jeff) Ramlow (Rachel and Jenna Muenchow, Cris and Alex) of Stevens Point, Sarah (Chris) Connaughty (Madelyn and Maya) of Beaver Dam, and Jon (Angie) Heinbuch (Brooklynn Torres, Olivia and Gavin) of Beaver Dam.
He is also survived by his brother, David (Karen) Heinbuch; 4 brother-in-laws, Bob Lutze, Jerry (Jean) Lutze, Ralph (Bonnie) Lutze, and Lloyd (Chris) Lutze; 2 sister-in-laws, Pam Heinbuch and Betty (John) Flynn; a special aunt, Norma Heinbuch and former son-in-law, Tom Muenchow. He is further survived by other dear relatives and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John T Heinbuch, in-laws, Norman Lutze, Ruth (Roehl, Lutze) Stuckmann, and Albert Stuckmann; sister-in-law, Theresa Lutze, and granddaughter, Emily Muenchow.
If desired, memorials in Jim's name may be directed to Grace Presbyterian Church.
The family extends special thanks to Pastor Chris Davis for his comfort and support, as well as the caring staff at UW Hospital, Waupun Christian Home & Rehab, and Waupun Memorial Hospital.
