James MacLean

James Alexander MacLean, 85, of Waupun, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024 at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Waupun.

James was born January 2, 1939. He spent much of his childhood in Rochester, MN. Dyslexia made traditional education challenging for him and after several attempts at higher education he turned his business ingenuity into positions with Germaine Monteil, Frances Denney, Bergner-Weise, Carson Pirie Scott and TrimFoot.

He is survived by his loving children: Susan “Sam” MacLean, Michael MacLean, Margaret Jordan; and his sisters: Kathleen Secrist and Alexandra Klein. James will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Gabriel Niederlander and Ewan and Annabelle MacLean.

James was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Alexander R. MacLean; his mother, Angela Flynn (nee Sellen); and his siblings: Mary Ochsner, Michael MacLean, and Patrick MacLean.

The family would like to thank the supportive staff at Prairie Ridge-Memory Care, Inclusa, SSM Hospice for their care, and to Rev. John Owusu at St. Joseph Catholic Church for his ministry.

Always devoted to the Catholic faith, James maintained a daily recitation of the Rosary through to his final days. May he now find the love and acceptance he so longed for in this life. May he rest in peace.
