James F. Scafe

James “Jim” Forrest Scafe, age 86 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2026, at his home.

Jim was born on January 18, 1939, in Sparta, WI, the son of Clayton and Bernice (Johnson) Scafe. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and dedicated many years of his life working in law enforcement. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing; he was a member of the Beaver Dam County Club and enjoyed taking trips to new courses. He was an avid gun collector, enjoyed fishing, and was a devoted fan of Badger football, hockey, and basketball. Jim also volunteered for many years with the PALS Program in Beaver Dam.

Jim is survived by his children, Sheila (Kurt) Beilman and Toby Scafe; four grandchildren, Megahn (Franklin) Gomez, Leah Scafe, Dieter Beilman, and Katarina Beilman; two great-grandchildren, Suyana Gomez and Asher Gomez; siblings, Creg Scafe and Mary (Ted) Willgrubs; sisters-in-law, Darlene Scafe and Catherine Ruedy; brother-in-law, Joe Wisman; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents; wife, Joanne; brother, Bill Scafe; sister-in-law, Kay (Heinick) Scafe; and other relatives.

In honoring Jim’s wishes, private family services will be held.
