James W. Niles, age 75 of Beaver Dam, passed away at home on Friday, March 1, 2024.

A memorial gathering for James will take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

James was born in Bennington, Vermont on February 18, 1949, the son of Louise (Kastenbein) and Robert MacGrey Niles II. He was a 1967 graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School in Vermont. He was united in marriage to his wife, Linda Manske, in Vermont on June 14, 1969.  James worked for the City of Fox Lake and the City of Beaver Dam and volunteered as a firefighter and EMT for the City of Fox Lake. Active in the community, he was a longtime softball coach and served on the Waupun School Board. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved hot air balloons. He also enjoyed spending time with his partner, Sherryl, whom he met in 2014; together they took many trips and had fun hanging outwith her family, while also spoiling all of his grandchildren.

James is survived by his partner, Sherryl and her family; daughter, Kathy; granddaughter, Christy; great-granddaughters, Kaelynn and Kenzie; sisters-in-law, Sandra Niles, Bridgette Niles, Wanda Sayce, and Nancy Niles; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; parents; brothers, Peter Niles, Bruce Niles, Robert Niles III, and Eric Niles; and other relatives.
