Jared M. Regnerus

Jared Mark Regnerus, age 31, entered his heavenly home on August 22nd, 2026 after a 22 month battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Jared was born on August 15, 1995 in Munster, IN to David and Amy (De Vries) Regnerus. He lived there for 6 years until his family moved to Cambria, WI where he enjoyed the country living with his family.

Jared attended Faith Christian School in Randolph for K-8, then Central Wisconsin Christian in Waupun for high school. Throughout his school years he enjoyed participating in choir, band and sports, particularly soccer and baseball.

While attending CWC, he met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Rachel Smits. They attended Dordt University together and were married on July 15, 2016. After graduation in 2018, the couple moved to Randolph, where Jared worked as a service and sales representative for a water treatment company. Together they welcomed four children: Roy Samuel, Lena Meridith, Chet Maurice, and Wesley Jared.

Jared loved his family deeply and cherished passing on his love of hunting and sports onto his children. He was a mentor to many cousins, nieces, and nephews, whom he enjoyed taking out for youth hunts, fishing, or playing a game of baseball in his front yard. He had two special uncles, Phil De Vries and Darrell De Vries, who helped nurture his love of hunting and sports.

Anyone who met Jared knew that his Christian faith was at the center of everything he did. He was a selfless spiritual leader not only to his family, but also in his community. He led and participated in many Bible studies and discussions. He was a faithful member of Grace United Reformed Church in Waupun where he enjoyed the fellowship of the saints and church activities.

Jared is survived by his wife Rachel; his children, Roy, Lena, Chet, and Wesley; his parents, Dave and Amy; his siblings, Katrina (Derk) Burgers, Alexa Regnerus, and Kenton (Crystal) Regnerus; his parents-in-law, Dan and Nancy Smits; brothers-and sisters-in-law, Danielle (Nathanael) Scheuers, David (Bailey) Smits, Beth (Nick) Kartechner, his nieces and nephews, Aleah, Addy, and Kade Burgers, Finn and Rhett Regnerus, Austin, Taylor, Mason, and Payton Scheuers, and Calvin Kartechner; his grandparents, Morry and Arlene De Vries; his grandparents-in-law, Marilyn Smits, and Darrell and Judy Hoffmann, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis and Martha Regnerus; and his grandfather-in-law, John Smits; and other relatives.

Visitation will be held at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Waupun on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Waupun with Pastor Paul Freswick officiating.
