Jean "Budd" K. Knoll, age 84, of Beaver Dam, died peacefully with his loving wife Betty by his side, on Friday, July 31, 2009 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital. Budd was born in the Town of Burnett on August 5, 1924 to Rudolph J. & Charlotte (nee Bayer) Knoll. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1942, and from 1943 until 1946 he proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. On April 26, 1946 he married his lifelong companion, Betty J. Bearder in Beaver Dam. Budd later worked as a cost estimator for Metal Fab in Beaver Dam. He was an avid collector of many different items and enjoyed spending time with his wife, especially going hunting together. Budd was also a member of John E. Miller American Legion Post #146 in Beaver Dam.

Budd is survived by his wife, Betty of Beaver Dam; his daughter, Sandra Knoll of California; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his sister, Betty Knaack of Beaver Dam; his sister-in-laws, Mary Ann (Dwight) DeSalva of Green Bay and Susan Bearder of California. Budd is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Susan Knoll in 1984, and other relatives.

A Memorial Service for Budd will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services , 135 Keller Blvd, Beaver Dam at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 6, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will immediately follow the service at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton. Light refreshments will be served following the burial at the funeral home.
