Jean E. Peters, 96, of Waupun, died Monday evening, October 13, 2014 at the Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center in Waupun.



Jean was born June 2, 1918, in Waupun, the daughter of C. Clyde and Allie Landaal Harris. She graduated from Waupun High School in 1935. On June 16, 1939, Jean was united in marriage with Earl Peters. Following their marriage the couple resided in Waupun. Jean enjoyed cooking, hosting family and friends and making all feel welcome. She was an excellent seamstress and taught sewing at the local vocational school for many years. She enjoyed painting, especially watercolor, and created many works throughout the years. She also enjoyed reading, bridge and golf. Jean was a lifelong member of Union-Congregational Church in Waupun. She served on the diaconate and was involved in many aspects of the life of the church.

Jean is survived by children: Mary Jo (Joseph) Billmann of West Bend, David (Deborah) Peters of South Milwaukee, and Richard (Sharon) Peters of rural Markesan. She is further survived by six grandchildren: Andrew (partner, Kathleen Kettner) Billmann of McFarland, Peter (Donna) Billmann of Port Washington, Matthew Peters of Bay View, Theodore Peters of Milwaukee, Heather (Eric) Dahl of Menomonee Falls, and Chandra (Tim) Hayes of Monroe. Jean also had eight great-grandchildren: Rachael and Alex Billmann, Kyra and Laura Billmann, Jonathan and Kathryn Hayes, and Lindsey and Logan Dahl.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Peters, in 1998 and an infant son, Daniel, in 1949.




Visitation:


Friends and relatives of Jean Peters may call on the family on Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.



Services:


Funeral services for Jean Peters will be held Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Union-Congregational Church in Waupun with Rev. Jack Kraaz officiating.



Burial:


Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Union-Congregational Church or the charity of your choice.
