Jean Wallendal, 93, of Waupun, died Friday, June 29, 2012 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.



Jean was born October 2, 1918 in Baillieston, Scotland the daughter of James and Margaret Weir Thomson. When Jean was 10 years of age, the family immigrated to the United States. Jean resided in Pullman, IL for 14 years. On October 4, 1941 she married John Wallendal in Pullman, IL. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Waupun where they resided all their married lives. Jean was a secretary at Waupun High School for 14 years. She was a member of Union-Congregational Church in Waupun where she was active on various committees. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Past Matrons as well as a past member of the Waupun Lioness Club and Waupun Hospital Auxiliary. Jean was an avid sewer and loved to quilt, knit and travel.

Jean is survived by two daughters, Linda (Russell) Schneider of Clinton, Louisiana, and Ellen Wallendal of Waupun; a step-granddaughter, Jennifer; a step-great-grandson, Russell Cole; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John Wallendal, in 1998.


Visitation:
Friends and relatives of Jean Wallendal may call on the family on Monday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Services:
Funeral services for Jean Wallendal will be held Monday, July 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Rev. Dr. Larry E. Webb officiating.

Burial:
Burial will follow at Wedges Prairie Cemetery in the town of Waupun.
