Jeffrey Ruenger

Jeffrey Ruenger, age 55 of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away September 5th, 2026, after a long battle with cancer.Jeff was born on September 11, 1970, to Richard and Jill (Braatz) Ruenger. 

He graduated from Waupun High School in 1988. Jeff earned an Associate in Arts Degree in Sales and Marketing from Madison Business College before moving to Phoenix, Arizona. There he earned his Bachelor of Science in Design from Arizona State University where he went on to be the Planning Administration Manager for the City of Scottsdale for 24 years. He will be remembered for the lasting impact he made through his service and as a mentor and coach to his team. 

Jeff carried an internal glow that could light up a room. He was fun loving and had a gift to offer everyone. It could be the humor and charm he brought as a friend, the love and teasing he had for his sisters, or a warm smile and comforting hug he gave as a son. He was special to us all in different ways. Jeff will forever remain a lasting memory in our hearts. 

Jeff is survived by his sisters, Rachelle Poole (Kris Larsen), Wendy (George) Mireles, and Andrea Navis (James Marshall), his niece Stella Mireles, and nephews, Colson Poole and Jonas Mireles, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents

Jeff went to the Humane Society 13 years ago to find a companion. He found a cat he named Betsy and formed a bond of unconditional love. Betsy has now joined the family of his sister Andrea.

A Celebration of Life gathering for Jeff will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026  from 2pm until 4pm at Werner Harmsen Event Center, 201 E. Jefferson St., Waupun and on March 6, 2027, in Phoenix, AZ.
