Obituary
Jerome "Jerry" C. Kanas, age 76 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born on July 12, 1935 in Neda, WI to Clarence Sr. and Lucille (nee Polzen) Kanas. He attended Mayville High School and worked for over 45 years at Metal Fab in Beaver Dam.
On April 28, 1956, Jerry was united in marriage to Mary Kasper at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Beaver Dam.
Jerry loved the game of golf and was a longtime member of the Beaver Dam Country Club. He also loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. Jerry was also fond of gambling at the casino. One of Jerry's favorite past times was sitting on the porch and watching the world go by.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Mary of Beaver Dam WI; children, Victoria (David) Manzer of Anchorage AK, Daniel (Carol) Kanas of Endeavor WI; grandchildren, Stacy Nehmer of Beaver Dam WI, Kody Kanas of Endeavor WI, Adam and Samantha Manzer of Anchorage AK; great-grandchildren, Michael, Jamison and Nikolas (Stacy) all of Beaver Dam WI. Jerry is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Terry (Sharon) Kanas of Mayville WI, Clarence Jr. (Barbara) Kanas of Mayville WI, Ronald (Dixie) Kanas of Waupun WI, Paulette (Ronald) Feller of Horicon WI, Cheryl (David) Feller of Iron Ridge WI, Rosemay (special friend James Stipanovic) Heintz of Butternut WI, Judy (Brian) Otto of Iron Ridge WI, Barbara (Daniel) Keller of Iron Ridge WI, Roger Kanas of Mayville WI, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Sr. and Lucille Kanas, and all of his aunts and uncles.
A Funeral Service for Jerry will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral and Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam with Fr. Mike Erwin officiating. A visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. until the start of the service. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service at Cornerstone. A private family inurnment will take place at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
