Jerry D. Goers, age 67 of Beaver Dam, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital. Jerry was born on January 13, 1941 in Lake Mills to Harry and Mabel (nee Strey) Goers. Jerry graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1960 and later attended Penn State University pursuing a degree in Agronomy. He excelled in sports, specifically basketball and golf, in which he participated in many State Amateur golf tournaments. Jerry worked as the Greens Superintendent at Old Hickory Country Club in Beaver Dam for 25 years and Rock River Hills in Horicon for 15 years. He loved to golf, travel, put together puzzles, going to casinos and most importantly, spend time with his family

Jerry will be dearly missed by his loving companion of over 31 years, Ann Champine of Beaver Dam, his children; Jeff (Sue) Goers of Princeton, Melissa (Dan) Hough of Waterloo and Rebecca (Mike) Marks of Randolph, his grandchildren; Megan (Josh) McAusland of Sun Prairie, Daniel, Aimee and Lena Hough all of Waterloo, Cassandra Treptow of Randolph, Nathan, Brendon and Nichole Marks all of Randolph, Lacey Goers of Fond du Lac, Amanda Nehls of Watertown, Justin and Jake Nehls of Princeton and Ashley Nehls of Wisconsin Rapids, his brothers and sisters; Jim (Phylis) Goers of Cambridge, Irma (R.J.) Christianson of Lake Mills, Betty (George) Pranke of Watertown, Lois (Hulin) Statin of Oklahoma and Nancy (Gary) Magnussen of Lake Mills, a sister-in-law Charlotte Goers-Nevin of Jefferson, Ann's Children; Laurie (Thomas) Kennedy, Anthony (Terri) Champine, Daniel Champine and Annette (Don) Neuman all of Beaver Dam, Ann's Grandchildren; Cara (Nate) Dassler, Brooke Kennedy, Eric Kennedy, Kari, Megan and Kyle Neuman all of Beaver Dam and Morgan and Rachel Champine both of Beaver Dam. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Richard Goers and a sister Margo Goers.
