Jerry Stellmacher, age 63 of the town of Marquette, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 2, 2016 with his family and friends by his side.

Visitation for Jerry will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan. Visitation will also be held at church on Friday prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

A funeral service for Jerry will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, W3377 Main St., Manchester with Rev. Michael Plagenz officiating. Burial will take place at Country Memorial Garden, town of Marquette.

Jerry was a lifelong Christian who was very true in his faith, which he proved to the very end. He was born on March 1, 1953 in Waupun, the son of Roland and Edna (Hoeft) Stellmacher. He was baptized, and in 1967 was confirmed, at Markesan United Methodist Church. Jerry graduated from Markesan High School in 1971. He was united in marriage on April 3, 1976 to Karen Prochnow at St. John's Lutheran Church in Markesan. In 1985, Jerry and Karen joined St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marquette. Jerry proudly ran the family farm for many years, and then went on to work at Saputo for 14 years.

Jerry lived an active life; he played softball when he was younger, served as a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Council, served on the Town of Marquette Town Board for 20 years, served on the Southern Green Lake County Ambulance Board and proudly led the Marquette softball league for all the neighborhood children for many years. He had an extreme love for farming, hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and most importantly, he was an extremely proud grandpa to his three grandchildren.

One of Jerry's passions was shooting pool; some of his most memorable accomplishments were winning the Centerhouse/Walker Kohlerville doubles tournament, winning a 5-man tournament with all his sons, winning the 5-man state tournament and traveling to Las Vegas to shoot in the National tournament. He really enjoyed directing tournaments at the Hitching Post, where he met a lot of his friends. He also truly enjoyed when there was a state tournament where Jerry, Karen and all their children would shoot pool in as well.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen of Marquette; three sons and one daughter, Geoff Stellmacher of Princeton, Kristina (Jeffrey) Mildebrandt of Markesan, Jason Stellmacher of Princeton and Brian (Heather) Stellmacher of Beaver Dam; three amazing grandchildren, his pride and joy, Brady and Wyatt Mildebrandt and Amelia Stellmacher; two sisters, Betty (Rodney) Walker and Mary (Eldon) Kohn; one brother, James (Marci) Stellmacher; one sister-in-law, Corrine (Merlyn) Krueger and many other relatives and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Milan and Helene Prochnow and brother-in-law, Curtiss Prochnow.

The family would like to thank all of those who went above and beyond to keep him comfortable, including Berlin Memorial Hospital, UW Hospital in Madison, Southern Green Lake County Ambulance and Agnesian Hospice Hope. Thank you for your commitment in Jerry's time of need.
