Jimmy D. Hunt, age 77 of Dalton, passed away at home on Friday, December 13, 2019.

Visitation for Jimmy will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Markesan Bible Church, 60 N. Margaret St., Markesan from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Levi Snyder officiating. Burial will take place at Manchester Cemetery (#1).

Jimmy was born on May 18, 1942 in Tennessee, the son of Robert Wylie and Mary Ruth (Austin) Hunt. He was united in marriage to Dianna Roth on December 21, 1963 in Manchester. Jimmy owned and operated Hunt's Repair for many years, and also previously drove semi-truck and worked at Kirsh Foundry in Beaver Dam. He had a great personality and was loved by many. He never hesitated to help someone in need and found the simple act of handing out a piece of candy could often brighten someone's mood. He enjoyed driving for the Amish for many years and filled his free time with hunting, fishing and trapshooting. Spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren came naturally to Jimmy, and he will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dianna Hunt of Dalton; children, Douglas (Barb) Hunt of Markesan, Helen Hunt of Indiana, Mary (Danny) Zastrow of Manchester and Jason (Crystal) Hunt of Markesan; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; special nephew, Tom Hunt of Savannah, TN and further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy; grandson, James Weese; six brothers; three sisters; in-laws, Lillian and Charles Roth and other relatives.
